Christmas Eve Gatherings

Sean Mortenson / December 20, 2017

This Christmas Eve we will be hosting two, distinct gatherings. Please join us in the morning for a more traditional service, then again in the evening for a casual gathering.

Join Worship Service
9:30 – 10:45am

In the morning, we will have a joint worship service with Scottsdale Presbyterian Church (SPC), in the main sanctuary. SPC has been our gracious host on the campus since we launched and, despite our different demographics, we have a beautiful spirit of unity with them. To enjoy that further we decided to come together (as we sometimes do) for Christmas Eve morning. SPC has invited some orchestra musicians and we will sing Christmas carols to their pipe organ (!). Redemption Scottsdale’s Sean Mortenson will give a short lesson and our kids will sing a few songs at the end. It should be a beautiful celebration of Christ’s birth, together.

Our normal children’s ministry, through fourth grade, will be available during this time. Toddlers and up will be singing in the service (they’ve been practicing). If your child does not want to sing or if you yourself are uncomfortable with it, we will have leaders who will sit with them during that time.

Family Sing-Along
5:00 – 6:00pm

In the evening, we will gather in the courtyard (outside) for a casual, festive time together. This will be less of a traditional worship service and more of a family sing-along. We’ll have some warm drinks and treats and Rick will lead us in familiar songs we can sing together. It should be a fun moment together on the most fun night of the year. Everyone is invited!

We will not have children’s ministry during this time as the kids are invited to join in the fun. It will be a casual environment outside, with some tables and chairs, and will only be an hour long.
